Community Managed Consulting

What is Community Managed Consulting?

Many farmers like to learn about the latest farm management practices and systems in groups. However, getting some extra one-on-one advice on-farm is important to help tailor and to apply it on their own farm.

Community Managed Consulting (CMC) offers the best of both worlds.

The aim of CMC is to give producers access to the best available information in order to improve the profitability and productivity of their farms. CMC gives farmers local and timely access to practical advice on a broad range of farm management practices and systems. This advice is in place to improve profitability and to provide the chance to learn from each other’s experiences.

CMC members have an information advantage – they are privileged to receive first access to results from local research and trials hosted by the CMC, as well as the latest reliable information on farm management practices from around Australia. Additionally, CMC members have a say about what the group does and the services provided to it.

CMC members pay an annual fee to receive a core group of services, including seminars and evening sessions with leading guest speakers, and a regular bulletin containing ‘must know’ information. Furthermore, members have access to the full expertise of the Mike Stephens & Associates (MS&A) team.

MS&A acts as a knowledge broker for CMC members – helping to reduce information overload. The team reviews all of the information available about the latest farm management practices and products, and passes on the most reliable, relevant and essential information to members, understanding and tailoring to individual needs.
